ROLAND VAN CAMPENHOUT & DE SPACECOWBOYS

Roland is well-versed in blues, but also in reggae, country, jazz, world music, and folk.
He’s been active more than 40 years, growing older alongside his generation, yet he has always been able to connect with a new audience.

For his show at Boogie Town he is bringing De Spacecowboys.
"Space Cowboys is a humorous reference to the unruly bunch who, in the 1960s in California, lived out their freedom in every way. Think of Jerry Garcia and The Grateful Dead. They say that like attracts like. With these free-spirited cowboys, anything is truly possible. 'Space' refers to the expansive sound we produce. In our ranks, we don’t just have the traditional bass, drums, and guitar, but also a cello, sitar, violin, and slide guitar that we really put through its paces."

ALL STARS
(live afterparty)
Mainstage
01:15 - 02:30
The Missy Sippy All Stars emerged from the legendary blues jams at the Missy Sippy music café in Ghent, where musicians gathered every Wednesday night for years under the inspiring leadership of Tiny Legs Tim. With the recording of Missy Sippy All Stars, Volume I, Tim captured five years of music, friendship, and the growth of the local music scene on an unforgettable album.

After Tim’s passing in 2022, the All Stars decided to keep his legacy alive. The jams still happen every week, and now, five years after their first album, they’re releasing a second. With both familiar and new faces, the group continues to grow and thrive.
Today, the Missy Sippy All Stars are leaving their mark on the Flemish music landscape. In addition to their regular nights at Missy Sippy, they bring their fiery, raw sound to stages all over Flanders with a core of five musicians. Come experience it for yourself: the soul of Ghent’s blues is alive and thriving, moving from stage to stage, night after night.
